"Will anyone be able to tell it's not a real tooth?"
This is the top concern for front tooth patients. The anxiety that an implant will look obviously artificial is understandable.
Modern implant crowns are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. We use layered ceramics that replicate the translucency and colour gradients of natural enamel. Digital shade matching ensures the colour is perfect. Even dentists sometimes struggle to identify well-placed implant crowns.
"What will I look like during healing?"
The thought of walking around with a visible gap for months is a deal-breaker for most patients.
You'll have a tooth from day one. We always place a temporary crown on the same day as front tooth implant surgery. It's designed to look natural while you heal. The permanent crown replaces it seamlessly at the final appointment.
"I'm worried about the gum line looking unnatural"
The gum tissue around front teeth frames the tooth and is just as important as the crown itself. If the gum line doesn't match the other side, it can look asymmetrical.
We plan for gum aesthetics from the start. If recession has occurred, gum grafting can restore the tissue before or during implant placement. The implant is positioned to support natural gum contours. This level of planning is what separates a good result from a great one.
"Is it safe to eat normally with a front tooth implant?"
Patients worry about biting into apples, sandwiches, or corn on the cob after getting a front implant.
Once healed, a front tooth implant handles everything a natural tooth can. During healing, we recommend avoiding biting directly into very hard foods. After the permanent crown is placed, there are no restrictions. Bite into whatever you like.

Will I have a gap while the implant heals?
Never. For front teeth, we always provide a temporary crown on the same day as implant placement. You'll leave the surgery with a tooth in place that looks natural. The permanent crown replaces it after healing.
How long does a front tooth implant take?
The implant is placed in a single appointment (about 1 hour). A temporary crown is fitted immediately. After 3-4 months of healing, the permanent crown is placed. With Vivo Bridge for multiple front teeth, permanent teeth are fitted in 48 hours.
What if I have gum recession around my front teeth?
Gum recession is common in the front of the mouth and can affect the aesthetics of an implant. Gum grafting can be done before or during implant placement to build up the tissue. Our surgeons plan for this in advance so the final result looks completely natural.
Is a front tooth implant more expensive than a back tooth?
The implant itself costs the same regardless of position. However, front teeth may require additional aesthetic work (gum grafting, custom abutments) to achieve the best cosmetic result. Single implants start from £1,695. 0% finance available.
Can I get a front tooth implant vs a bridge?
An implant is usually the better option for front teeth because it preserves the adjacent teeth (a bridge requires filing them down). Since front teeth are highly visible, the independent, natural look of an implant is especially valuable.

Having priced up the same implants on the South Coast I found Dental by Design a lot cheaper . I had my whole top jaw teeth replaced by Dr. Mechoui having been worried by the process I found him and the surgery excellent at making me feel relaxed and informed at all stages. The finished result has exceeded my expectations and I would thoroughly recommend Dental by design to anybody who is thinking about the process. Ps they don’t look anything like’Turkey’ teeth, very natural looking and feeling.

I visited plenty of dental practice before I came to see DBD. They all gave me the sweet talk and complications in having it done. I felt like, with all the complications, it’s not worth going through it. For every complications, there’s a corresponding charge. With DBD, everything was straight forward. On my free assessment, Dr Rob gave me lots of encouragement and reassurance. On the day of my procedure, nurse Elisa and Dr Rob made me feel at home and the feeling of outmost care. The receptionist were all very nice and they new my name as I entered the door. Isabella was so caring even with the aftercare calls.
